Use a checkmark to confirm an observation
This checklist helps you remember everyday care tasks. Ticking every box does not establish that a cat is healthy. If you did not observe something, leave it unchecked or record it as unobserved in the private profile.
What each item means
- Food and water checked: inspect the actual food, freshness and access. In a shared home, distinguish what you saw this cat eat from an empty communal bowl.
- Litter box checked: check cleanliness, access and any behavior you actually witnessed. A present tray is not proof it was used.
- Play or enrichment offered: offer a suitable activity the cat can leave; note the response rather than a compulsory completion time.
- Resting spaces checked: make sure preferred places remain reachable and other pets do not block the route.
- Changes noted: record specific differences and dates, including uncertainty.
These prompts are editorial reminders built from everyday care topics. They are not a clinical screening form. See the source guides for feeding, play and litter care [1,2,3].
A useful note compared with a vague one
“Checked dinner: offered 30 g; saw approximately half eaten; another cat entered later” gives a caregiver something to investigate. “Food normal” hides what was observed. Likewise, “Did not see litter use” is different from “No urine passed.”
Use the private profile to record structured observations and notes. Avoid inferring a diagnosis from a completed daily list.
Act on concerning changes
The list has no automatic warning system and does not notify a veterinarian. If your cat stops eating, contact your veterinary team promptly [4]. Repeated straining with little or no urine may indicate an emergency and needs immediate veterinary attention [5]. Do not finish the checklist before seeking help.
For routine questions, bring specific notes to the appointment and ask what to monitor next. Review senior-cat routines or multi-cat access when those situations apply.
What is saved
Checkboxes are temporary in the current page. They are not automatically stored in your account and can reset when the page is reloaded. Save actual observations through the profile form; the checklist and the account record are separate functions.
